Nevada State Fair Wiener Dog Races – a 50-foot sprint to the finish

Who will be the top Wiener…dog!

          It is time once again for the race to the “Wiener’s Circle,” the Nevada State Championship Wiener Dog Races brought to you by Nevada State Fair and Wells Fargo, a 50-foot dachshund sprint to the finish line.  The event will be held at the Nevada State Fair’s indoor arena, Reno Livestock Events Center, Sunday, August 24, 2008.  Check-in begins at 11 a.m. and the pre-trials begin at 1 p.m.  The semi-final and final heats will be held immediately following the pre-trials. State Fair officials expect over 150 entries. The “Wiener” will receive a check for $300, a trophy and bragging rights as the Nevada State Fair’s fastest dog. About the 134th Nevada State Fair:

Ticket prices for the gates are $10, FREE – Seniors (65 and older), FREE - Youth ages 10 and under thanks to a grant from EL Cord Foundation. Discount Tickets to the Nevada State Fair are available at the Nevada State Fair office at 1350-A N. Wells Ave. in Reno, or call (775) 688-5767 or check out our website at www.nvstatefair.com .

Wednesday – 5 pm to Midnight

Thursday – 5 pm to Midnight

Friday – Noon to Midnight

Saturday – Noon to Midnight

Sunday – Noon to 11 pm
